High-speed rail forum to be held in Holland

HOLLAND — A public forum to discuss the potential and impact of high-speed rail transportation in West Michigan is planned for 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Holland East K-8 School at 373 E. 24th St.

Michigan state Sens. Wayne Kuipers and Patty Birkholz and state Rep. Bob Genetski will join residents in an open discussion on the future of high speed rail in Michigan.

The forum is one of 16 being sponsored by the Michigan Environmental Council, the Michigan Association of Railroad Passengers and the Michigan Municipal league. Suggestions from the public will be forwarded to state and federal policy makers.
